At Bindara we are dedicated to breeding performance horses that are well suited to Australian conditions. Our dog training is based on fun and play aiming for happy and well adjusted dogs.

Bindara is named after the first pony that Merran owned. Bindi whose show name was Bindara is the one responsible for the horse passion that has been both a profession and an all consuming hobby. Bindi was a 14 hand grey Australian Pony bred by Kirreway Stud and carrying the famous Barolin bloodlines. In the 1970's he was everything that we are trying to breed today. He had good bone but was elegant, had an almost unflappable temperament, could produce a fantastic medium trot and was very pretty.

When we moved to our property at Barooga NSW in 2003 the seeds were already being sown to breed our own performance horses. We had been given a 16hh Anglo Arab gelding who was a lovely horse - a great doer in the paddock and tough. The hard ground and hot climate never affected him. We looked for some time for an Anglo Arab Brood mare but could not find exactly what we were looking for. Quite by accident, and almost out of desperation, we went to look at a Warmblood mare who was reasonably local and had a photo in Horse Deals that had caught my eye. This horse was Waterview Park Mariana. We were immediately taken with her conformation, wonderful temperament and movement and she continues to convince us that Warmbloods are the type horse we want to breed.

We aim to produce good looking, sound and sensible horses with talent for dressage or eventing.

The Border Collies have always been our companions and Jeff now spends many hours in training K9 Disc. Our first Border Collie, Winkie started playing with a frisbee and that has been the constant exercise toy for all dogs since.

We hope you enjoy browsing our website and learning a little more about our horses and dogs.
